Improving medical care for electrosensitive persons

24.12.2024 - Between mid-October 2023 and mid-October 2024, 56 medical consultations were conducted by people who consider themselves to be electrosensitive in the Swiss network for medical advice on non-ionising radiation MedNIS. The 2024 report presents the key numbers and current challenges of this project, which aims to improve medical care, scientific knowledge and information on electromagnetic hypersensitivity. 07.09.2023 - The FOEN launched a call for projects in 2022 to promote research on the effects of non-ionizing radiation (NIR) on health and the environment. The call aimed to support research projects that investigate health or biological effects of NIR. In total, seven research projects on different topics are in progress.

Report "Mobile Radio and Radiation" by the working group on Mobile Radio and Radiation

28.11.2019 – In Switzerland the introduction of 5th generation mobile radio technology (5G) has begun. This report (PDF, 694 kB, 28.11.2019) describes technical facts about 5G, addresses the operation of the Swiss mobile radio networks and their regulation, estimates the exposure of the population to non-ionising radiation (NIR) and summarises the scientific findings on possible health consequences.
